And after a bit of aging and a hormonal boost later, a childhood crush turn into love.
I'm not usually a fan of shipping but Spyro's and Cynder's relationship warmed up to me. The biggest point is how it fits the storyline. Spyro's and Cynder's feelings are not merely a cute element, they're an integral part of the plot and why Spyro made it this far ; without his feelings and her support, he would have fallen to the growing hatred and madness that consume his mind. Cynder allow him to overcome those feelings and resist the curse.
Likewise, Cynder's list of sins is impressive and her guilt is immense. That everyone (incorrectly) brush it off to just brainwashing does not change her memories. And her actions have made her feared (and hated) through the entire Realm. But Spyro's acceptance of her, even after he eventually figure out the truth, is what keeps her going. In him, she finds a way to find it in herself to keep living and to overcome what she did.
Unfortunately, the serie crashed down after Dawn of the Dragon ; DotD was meant to be the end of a 'prologue' trilogy that would lead to more adventures (Dark Will is not gone, the Dragon Realm probably won't take it well that their saviors are the Dark Master and Dark Queen respectively, and the Realm probably had villains other than King Gaul in it). Unfortunately, the serie was scrapped altogether after that (Skylanders is not really a Spyro game and in fact, the next one won't even have Spyro as part of the game).
Well, with a bit of tweaking, you can connect all the Spyro games into one storyline...just not with the same characters.
Begin with LOS; he is the "first" Spyro, and his adventures become a dragon legend. Then, hundreds/thousands of years later, the "classic" Spyro is born, and has his own adventures in a new area of the planet (one of the games flat out says the dragons were forced out of their original homelands), then even later, some descendant of "classic" Spyro travels through a portal to the Skylands, interbreeds with the unique dragon population already there and voila! "Skyro"! (Read here for a more in-depth version: [link])

You may want to add a little more length to spyro's torso for next time *smiles*
